THE WAIKINO TROUBLE.

DEMONSTRATIONS BY THE STRIKERS.

ADDITIONAL POUCE.

Waikino township has been in a state of ferment during the past few days owing to the demonstrations made by the strikers against the men employed by the Waihi Company on the Horahora electrical scheme. Yesterday there was a little trouble, but the police averted anything senous. The police force at Waihi and Waikino has now been reinforced by the*addition of twenty-three constables, and this should keep the unruly spirits in check. Some fourteem men are employed at Waikino by the Waihi Company. Some of them had for a time difficulty in obtaining accommodation owing to the strikers " cornering" the 1 boardinghouses, but this difficulty is being over* come by the company taking over one of the boardinghouses.
