RAILWAY QUESTION.
MEETING AT THAMES.
At Thames yesterday a meeting was held of those interested in having the railway across the Hauraki Plains diverted so as to junction with the main line at Kopu instead of at Paeroa. Mr H. Lowe (Mayor of Thames) presided, and there was an attendance of about eighteen persons. It was decided to form a Thames Railway League to urge upon Government the construction of a line from Kopu to Pokeno, and to have a petition circulated and signed in favour of the proposed railway.
