BOWLING.
The official opening ol the Paeroa green takes place on Saturday next, when there will probably be a -large attendance of local players and visitors should the weather be favourable. The usual match between presidents'**^ vice-presidents' teams will be played, and the players will be entertained at afternoon tea.
New members of the Paeroa Club have been elected as follows:—E. W. Porritt, G. Frith, E. Jones, D. Challender, W. Grant, and T. Sullivan.
Members of the Paeroa Club will hold a pairs competition for trophies donated by Mr W. McWatters, entries closing on October 31st. ,
The Paeroa Club has been invited to send representatives to the opening of various greens as follows : — Karangahake (president and two rinks; October 28th j Waikmo (president and two rinks) November 4th ; Epsom (president and one member) October 14th ; Mt. Eden (president and one member) November 4th ; Howick (president and two members) October 21st; Otahuhu (president and one member) October 21st; Cambridge (president and one member) November Ist; Devonport (president and one member) October 14th ; Carlton (president and one member) October 28th; Dominion (president and one member) October 21st; Rocky Nook (president and one member) October 21st; Waihi (president and three members) October 21st.
