AN OPPOSITIONIST'S LAMENT.

(To the Editor). Sib,—l regret most exceedingly that there is not an* Oppositionist candidate standing for Ohinemuri, for I should certainly have voted for him. There is none, but sham ones—men like Mr Moss who are Government to-day and Opposition to-morrow, Prohibitionists when it suits them and generally anything at all. Mr Moss appears to be advertising himself as a local man; but what stake has he here? No wife, family, kith or "kin. It is said that, if elected, he will start practice in Wellington. 1% he, I ask, a local man or any more a carpet bagger than any one now standing ? In conclusion, let me pay a tribute to Mr Druniin for his h mour.ible retirement. —I am, etc. J.JS.
