After die minutes of tho previous meoting lad been v< ad and confirmee, the Secre' ary reported that the Jockey Club had decided to allow tho use oi the racecourse for the sports for £5. The offer was accepted. The business of drawing up the programme and allocating the prize mOin-ey was then proceeded ■with. The pri&e money amounted to over £80, ia addition to which a number of trophies trill be given. The programme comprises several military competitions, tugs-of-war for volunteers and allcomers, wrestling, chopping match, and foot-races for amateurs and professionals. The prizes given in each case are most liberal, and should attract a large number of entries. Nominations for all events close on Wednesday. May lOlh, and the handicaps will appear on the following Monday. Acceptances for the Sheffield Handicap (130 yards) close on May -20tftr.
