Waihi Fire Brigade.
■\ ho"Waihi Fire Brigade held their first practice on Saturday afternoon last, when Captain O'H:naand several of the members, of tho I'aeroa Fire Brigade journoyod to Waihi to assist in the/operations. Tho party was accompanied by Crt ock, tho County Chairman. The water supply was found to bo quite sufficient for fire extinguishing purposes, . although .the pressure was not tyjite so high as it is in. Paeroa. Th(/. r f vaeroa contingent was most hospitably entertained iv Waihi by Captain' Browne and the other members of the Waihi Brigade. In the .evening a smoke concert was held in Flett's Eob Hoy Hotel, for the benefit of the Visitors,; at which Mr J. \ nsenne presided. The Waihi people ar© to be congratulated on the energetic manner in which they have started their Fire Brigade, and it will doubtless soon reach that high state of efficiency which other organisations attain hi Waihi.
