BOARD OF REVIEW.
The Board of GReviewew for the Assessment Act sat on Monday at the Town Hall, Messrs McG-owan (chairmam), Brodie, and Douglas officiating and Mr Edwin Edwards appearing iv support of >his valuations. Out of &36 valuations only 24 objections werej received, and of these many were thrown out. Mr Oassrells had a; series of objections to Paeroa township valuations, chiefly op. the ground df errors in the area. Of a total valuation of £2900 a reduction in all of #221, was made. The only item of interest^ was the objection-of Mr W. Moore, of Netherton, to being assessed as owner of the Opirori block (323 acres) to' which he stated on oath that he had; no legaliitle and disclaimed all right title and 'interest. Objections by Messrs Snodgrass, Thorp, Bramley and others were dealt with, and the Thames Borough -Endowment was reduced in value from £1000 to £750. ■Mr A. jJ. :Mitchell was 'complimented by the Board for his care and attention in the clerical work, and the Assessor's services were also recognised.
