For several years Mr Dickson acted as chairman of the gallery at galloping and trotting meetings in Christchurch, and he was held m the highest esteem by the journalists' who cover those meetings. As a result of his long association with the turf, he had accumulated an amazing fund of racing knowledge generally, and he was ever ready to impart that knowledge to what might be termee} the younger school of racing journalists. He wrote with authority, and the Daily Times was one of the papers for which he acted as correspondent, his news being forwarded to this journal with unfailing regularity.
