During the morning round of the Otatara Cup, W. J. Meade holed in one at the fifth, Spion Kop. The popular St. Clair player elected to use a No. 5 iron and the shot, pitching on the fringe of the green, pitched perfectly and bumped up to the cup to fall in. This is Meade’s second hole in one. As on the first occasion, Meade was, unfortunately, not covered by the club’s insurance scheme.
