OTATARA CUP

St. Clair Golf Club PLAYER HOLES IN ONE The Otatara Cup, consisting of 36 holes of Medal play, was held at St. Clair on Labour Day and was won by B. A. Colquhoun with net rounds of 67 and 71— total 138. The runner-up was R. B. Prisk, 68 and 72—140. Teh winner of the morning round was W. J. Meade with a net 69, while the afternoon round was won by J. T. Williamson, with a net 72. Other good net scores were: W. J. Meade 69—73—142, C. F. Williamson 71—76—147, G. F. Bolwell 75—73—148. I. Mearns 75—73—148, A. A. Hunter 76—73—149. During the morning round of the Otatara Cup, W. J. Meade holed in one at the fifth, Spion Kop. The popular St. Clair player elected to use a No. 5 iron and the shot, pitching on the fringe of the green, pitched perfectly and bumped up to the cup to fall in. This is Meade’s second hole in one. As on the first occasion, Meade was, unfortunately, not covered by the club’s insurance scheme.
