NO DANGER OF DELAY

Roxburgh Hydro-electric Undertaking

Parliamentary Reporter WELLINGTON, Oct. 17.

The loss of engineers from the Roxburgh hydro works to accept positions in Australia was referred to by Mr W. A. Hudson (Oppn., Mornington) during a discussion on the Estimates in the House of Representatives today. He said that if engineers who had left were not replaced there would be serious repercussions on the progress of the scheme, which was vital to the South Island. The Minister of Works, Mr Goosman, said there was a full engineering staff at Roxburgh and the loss of engineers to the Snowy River scheme in Australia was very small. There was no danger of the Roxburgh undertaking being held up.
