INCREASE IN PENSIONS

Christchurch RSA Dissatisfied

PA CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 11. “This meeting of returned servicemen expresses the utmost dissatisfaction with the recent meagre increases in pensions, and urges the Government to implement the resolutions carried out at the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association conference last June, and since submitted to the Cabinet.” . This resolution was carried unanimously at a general meeting of about 80 members of the Christchurch RSA tonight, and will be referred to the Prime Minister, Mr Holland, and the Minister in Charge of Pensions, Mr Macdonald. The NZRSA speakers claimed that it would be a year before any legislation resulted from the findings of the promised commission on pensions.
