MAGISTRATE’S COURT

The following cases were dealt with by Mr J. G. Warrington, S.M., at a sitting of the Oamaru Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning:— For being in possession of liquor in the vicinity of a dance hall, Raymond Mercer, William John Gideon Hicks, and Andrew James Muldrew were each fined £7 10s, with costs (10s). Mather Elliott Harris was fined £5 and ordered to pay costs (10s) on a charge of using an unlicensed motor vehicle. He was convicted and ordered to pay costs on charges of driving without a warrant of fitness and with having no heavy traffic licence. David M. Tait was fined 20s, with costs (10s), and the New Zealand Express Company, Ltd., was convicted and ordered to pay costs (10s) on charges of exceeding their heavy traffic licences.
