Precaution’s Chances

Precaution, a newcomer in the Tahuna Handicap at Forbury Park on Saturday, has been started three times this season and has not been out of a place. His first race was in the Addington Trotting Stakes in August, and he was beaten by a neck by the brilliant young trotter Highland Kilt. He improved pn this at the New Brighton meeting last month, when he won the Welcome Trotting Handicap from Fourth Brigade, from whom he received 12 yards. Precaution went 3.25, from a 3min 38sec mark. He was started on the second day of the New Brighton meeting, and in the Shirley Handicap finished fourth to Fourth Brigade, Jenny Dillon and Loyal Wrack. Fourth Brigade had 24 yards from him. Lucky Jack Gelding Birthstone. who is one of the field of seven engaged in the Royal Handicap next Saturday, was allowed to drop out of his engagement on the first day. The Lucky Jack gelding's only win last season was in the President’s Handicap, of two miles, at the Methven meeting, where he was followed home by Phyllis Gold and Economist.
