BETTER SERVICE
Operation Of Buses The change from trams to buses on the Gardens-Opoho run will not make any appreciable difference to the time table. The Daily Times was told by the transport manager, Mr J. A. Todd, yesterday; that the service between 4.30 p.m. and 5.45 p.m. would probably be improved. He said that seven trams formerly carried out the service between Anderson’s Bay, the Gardens and Opoho. Three went as far as the Gardens, and four went to Opoho. Now, six trams were being used, but the service was more frequent at times. No trams have yet been removed from the city routes as a result of the withdrawal of the Opoho service. The Daily Times was told that the reduction in the number used on the Gardens-Anderson’s Bay run would enable an extra tram to be made availat rush periods. In some cases, this tram would replace one of the open type which sometimes had to be used to cope with traffic.
