MY HERO AMISS

Dunedin Guineas Candidate,

Special to the Dally Times CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 26. My Hero went off his feed on his trip to Wingatui last week, and C. G. Humphries decided that it would be unwise to race the Neptune three-year-old on the first day of the Dunedin meeting. His programme for this week will depend on his condition. F. D. Jones returned home with his four horses, Magical, Johnny Peep, Betula and the two-year-old Infanta, without waiting for the second day of the Dunedin meeting. Two of C. G. Humphries's lot (Robin Dayes and Pukka Sahib) also came home, as did Springwater (M. J. Wadley) and Gleneagles (A. B. Stove). Two Riccarton jockeys came home after the first day’s racing at Wingatui, but they will go south again this week for the second day, when C. T. Wilson will ride Hobgoblin. Ned Kelly, Winslow Boy and Robbie, while N. A. Crombie will be on Sharessa, Langham and Millrace. Other riding engagements for Riccarton horses on the second day are W. D. Skelton, Bob’s March, and G. M. Hillis, Robin Redbreast.
