CALL SUSTAINED

Rev. R. S. Miller For St. Stephen’s

SON TO FOLLOW FATHER Special to the Daily Times ALEXANDRA, Sept. 19.

At a special meeting of the Central Otago Presbytery held in Alexandra today, a call from St. Stephen’s Church, Dunedin, to the Rev. R. S. Miller, LL.M., 8.D., of Upper Clutha, was sustained by' the Presbytery and handed to Mr Miller. The Moderator, the Rev. D. D. Heggie, congratulating Mr Miller on his transfer, remarked that it was a very rare occasion in New Zealand for a son to follow his father in a parish, as Mr Miller is doing, with only a few years between. Mr Miller knew the congregation and the people of St. Stephen’s knew him probably better than they knew any other minister in the country. They knew him in his youth and now they were unanimous in their desire to have him as their minister, said Mr Heggie. It was intimated that the induction was arranged for the middle of November. The Rev. J. C. Doig, of Cromwell, was appointed Interim Moderator of the Upper Clutha charge.
