RETURNING TO FORM

St. Bruno Looks Well

St. Bruno moved attractively in a gallop at Wingatui yesterday morning, and the Salmagundi gelding gave the impression that he is not very far from the peak of his form. He was nominated for the Spring Hurdles and the TRanfurly Handicap on the first day of the Dunedin Jockey Club's meeting, but, as was generally expected, he was allowed to drop out of the hurdle event. He has not had a race this season, and his only success last season was in the Riverton Cup, which he won very easily. The going was heavy, and St. Bruno revelled in it, dropping the field in the run home to have a margin of four lengths from Jimmy the One at the post. Partial to heavy going, St. Bruno would come into favour for the Ranfurly Handicap on Saturday if the conditions happened to be to his liking.
