REQUEST MET

Honey Producers

EQUALITY OF FRANCHISE

PA WELLINGTON, July 20. The Honey Marketing Committee Regulations, 1948, amendment number two, gazetted tonight, gave effect to the specific request put forward recently by the 1950 conference of the National Beekeepers’ Association, said the Minister of Marketing, Mr Holyoake. “The franchise for the purchasers of seals and suppliers of honey to the Marketing Department has now been placed on an equal basis for the election of producers representatives on the Honey Marketing Committee,’’ added the Minister. He said the rolls for the 1950 election, which would be available for inspection on July 26, would be compiled on a new basis. “ The amendment meets the longfelt want in the honey industry that there should be equal franchise in the elections of producer representatives, said the Minister.
