Mr Justice Northcroft, who has been presiding at a sitting of the Supreme Court in. Dunedin, will leave for Christchurch today.

Inspector W. J. Irwin, of Auckland, formerly a member of the Police Department in Dunedin and Invercargill, is at present on a visit to Central Otago. Reference to the death of Mr J. Croxford, a former Otago representative cricketer, and a member of the Dunedin and Albion clubs, was made at a meeting of the Otago Cricket Association last night. A welcome to the Rev. Y. T. Fong, who arrived in Dunedin recently to minister to Chinese Presbyterians, was extended by members of the Presbytery of Dunedin at' the monthly meeting last night. The Rev. G. H. McNeur translated Mr Fong's reply. The Presbytery of Dunedin decided at its monthly meeting last night to offer its congratulations to Mrs Mary Young, of Port Chalmers, who has attained her ninetieth birthday. The moderator, the Rev. H. O. Bowman, said that Mrs Young had been a member of the church for 75 years. The treasurer of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in New Zealand, Mr L. B. Mushet (Wellington) attended the monthly meeting of the Presbytery of Dunedin last night. He was welcomed by the moderator the Rev. H. O. Bowman. The moderator also extended a welcome to the editor-manager of the Outlook, the Rev. A. M. Richards, who spoke on the progress of the paper.

Advice that the moderator of the General Assembly, the Right Rev. R. S. Watson, would begin his moderatorial tour of some country districts in Otago in September was received at the monthly meeting of the Presbytery of Dunedin last night. Mr Watson is at present in the North Island.
