Match With West Indies STUBBORN BATTING . NZP A—Copyright LONDON, May 16. Surrey’s surprise stubborn batting resistance foday robbed the West Indies of what had appeared to be a comfortable win. Inspired by the sound defensive play of Fishlock and Barton, the Surrey batsmen kept the West Indies from taking their second innings until only 10 minutes of play remained, forcing a draw. i Surrey needed 242, with seven wickets in hand, to. avoid an innings defeat when play was resumed today. On a fast-paced wicket, Surrey made 391. Fishlock batted strongly for 110, thus gaining the honour of scoring the first century against the visitors. He batted 215 minutes and hit-15 4’s.
