American Railway Strike Ends
NEW YORK, May 16. The Brotherhood of Railroad Firemen and Enginemen today called off its crippling strike against the four major railways. The union agreed to submit to arbitration its principal demand for a second fireman on mul-tiple-unit Diesel locomotives. Both sides agreed to accept the arbiter’s decision as final.
