GERMAN WAR PRISONERS

Last Group Repatriated By Russia Rec. 9.45 p.m. MOSCOW, May 5. Tass news agency announced that the last group of German war prisoners, numbering 17,538, had been repatriated. There now remained in the Soviet Union only 9717 men condemned for serious war crimes and 381 whose war crimes cases were being investigated. Altogether from the time of Germany’s capitulation the Soviet Union had repatriated 1,939,063 German war prisoners, the news agency said.
