RSA SOCIAL HALL
Increased Use To Be Encouraged In an endeavour to attract more members to the RSA clubrooms and to make increased use of the hall as a social centre, the House Committee of the RSA was instructed to make plans for a winter programme. Suggestions made by the committee were approved by the RSA executive at its meeting last night.' It was reported that arrangements were already under way for fortnightly film screenings and the secretary was instructed to inquire into the possibility of the club becoming attached to a regular film circuit. Approval was also given to recommendations that a weekly dance should be held and that regular card evenings should be arranged. The decision that an effort should be made to encourage and enable a greater use of the social hall by all members was taken some time ago when it was also decided that, to make this possible, the use of the hall by the Table Tennis Club should be discontinued. A petition signed by about 60 members interested in table tennis was received at last night's meeting requesting that a special general meeting should be called to consider the Executive Committee's decision. • It was decided that the petitioners be asked if they were willing that the matter should be brought up at the annual general meeting in view of the expense which a special general meeting would entail.
