Travelling Professorship For Obstetricians

NZPA Special Correspondent Rec. 7 p.m. LONDON, Apl. 4. The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists has launched an appeal for £400,000 to enable it to provide itself with new premises and to establish a travelling professorship. The main objective of the college,is to improve the standard of obstetrics and gynaecology throughout the British Commonwealth. The college is an independent body and was not absorbed by the National Health Services Act. . . Because of the rapid expansion of its influence and work since it was established in 1929, the college has out-grown its present home in Queen Anne street, London, and urgently needs new and larger premises. . , The travelling professorship which it is also hoped to establish from the fund, is specifically designed to encourage the exchange of progressive ideas between obstetricians, in the Mother Country and the dominions.
