American Government Sells Potatoes Cheaply
Rec. 11,25 p.m. WASHINGTON, Apl. 4. The Agriculture Department has announced that the United States has sold 250,000,0001 b of surplus potatoes at the rate of 1001 b for one cent. They cost the Government 5,000,000 dollars under its farmers’ price-support programme. The potatoes brought only 25,000 dollars when sold to exporters for shipment abroad.
