SCARCITY OF FARRIERS LETTER TO FORBURY PARK CLUB At a meeting of the committee of the Forbury Park Trotting Club held last night a letter was received from the Otago Light Horse and Pony Society concerning the difficulty of obtaining farriers and suggesting a conference of delegates from galloping and trotting clubs to' discuss the position.' Members agreed that the position was serious and Mr Richardson was appointed the club’s delegate to the proposed conference. Those present at the meeting were Messrs B. S. Irwin (chairman), A. Ferguson, F. M. Anderson, L. M. Fahey, A. G. Sime, T. Fogg, J. A. MacDonald, J. Henderson, R. K. Aitchison, J. E. Brunton, J. Richardson and G. J- Barton. The secretary of the Trotting Conference wrote stating that a meeting of the conference would be held on April 27 to discuss the Rules of Trotting. The chairman was appointed to represent the club. The secretary of the Roxburgh Trotting Club wrote expressing appreciation of the local club’s action in making a contribution of £SOO towards the stakes for the meeting to be held at Gore. The Forbury Park Bowling Club .was granted the use of one of the buildings on the club’s course for the purpose of holding card tournaments.
