By the Sporting Editor One of the attractions for those who have a holiday tomorrow will be the first day of the Oamaru Jockey Club’s meeting, and the club is in the fortunate position of being able to present a card of good fields, including two events for pacers. Eleven horses have been paid up for in the Cup, the first leg of the double, and 16 stand their ground in the Parkside Handicap, the second leg. The Cup field looks a very even one. The track is reported to be in splendid condition. Selections for the various events are:— 11.30: Trial Stakes No. I.—Beau Esprit, Acme, Barry. 12.10: Weston Trot. —True Dora, Lisnaskea, Knightmare. 12.55: Trial Stakes No. 2.— Any Time, Happy Hunter, All, Hurry. 1.40: Autumn Highweight Handicap.— Beaugard, Bayfort, Wee Mac. 2.25: Oamaru Cup.— Arctotis, Speedy, Personality. 3.10: Windsor Hack Handicap. —Airshaft, Maunga Reka, Top Class. 3.55: Parkside Hack Handicap. —Gay John, Defectus, Skyzami. 4.45: Redcastle Trot.— Cincinnatus, Helali, Lisnaskea.
