ACTION ENDORSED
PROTEST AGAINST EXPULSION WATERSIDE WORKERS’ UNION Unconstitutional was one description given to the expulsion of the Waterside Workers’ Union from the Federation of Labour in a motion adopted at the monthly meeting of the Otago Branch of the New Zealand Timber Workers’ Union last night. The motion stated: The Otago Branch of the New Zealand Timber Workers’ Union entirely dissociates itself from the resolution adopted by the national executive in supporting the action of the expulsion of the Waterside Workers' Union from the Federation of Labour. On the contrary, we endorse the action of the Otago Trades’ Council in its protest against the unconstitutional, undemocratic, and precipitate manner in which the National. Executive of the Federation of Labour has acted, as, in our opinion, the correct body to deal with the quesion at issue is the National Council or the Conference of the Federation.
