“ILLEGAL EXPULSION”

FREEZING WORKERS’ UNION’S VIEW PA CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 16. Strongly condemning “ the illegal expulsion ” of the Waterside Workers Union from the Federation of Labour, Borthwick's Belfast branch of the Canterbury Freezing and Related Trades Union today called on the National Association of Freezing Workers to suspend its affiliation with the Federation “ until the waterside workers are restored to full and effective unity with all other organised industrial workers.” The motion was carried unanimously by the branch after a discussion. The considered opinion of the branch expressed in a further resolution was that with the Waterside Workers’ Union outside its ranks, the Federation of Labour would become only an affiliation fee collecting body with little effective economic power.
