BRILLIANT WIN
VEILED ART AT RANDWICK Rec. 8 p.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 26. Veiled Art scored brilliantly in the Villiers Stakes at Randwick for his first success in open company. He had previously won mixed stakes events at Rosehill and Canterbury. The favourite. Karachi, was the unluckiest horse in the race as he received a bad check early and came from ninth place at the turn to fourth at the post. , ' A „ , Sheba led at the start, but at the six furlongs Royal Meteor led from Smooth Action and Sheba, with Veiled Art moving easily in ninth position. Veiled Art moved up to fifth at the turn and came away to have the race won comfortably at the distance.
