LEADER SUSPENDED
UNOFFICIAL DOCK STRIKE IN BRISTOL NZPA—Copyright Rec. 9 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 25 A leader of the unofficial dock strike in Bristol last May has been removed from office for two years, the general secretary of the Transport and General Workers’ Union, Mr Arthur Deakin, announced yesterday. The Disciplinary Committee suspended Mr F. Hoyle, a member of the unofficial strike committee, and warned the leaders that they must conform to union rules in future. , About 2000 Bristol dockers stopped work for a month in sympathy with the Canadian seamen’s strike. The stoppage later spread to London, affecting more than 15,000 men and 150 ships.
