Policeman Rescues Young Woman From Television Tower
NZPA—Copyright Rec. 9 p.m. NEW YORK, Dec. 25. A 25-year-cld woman climbed unaided 330 ft up a television tower at Norfolk, Virginia, last night, but fainted when being brought down —lashed to the back of a policeman. Barefooted, and clad in slacks and a jacket, Mrs Mary Shaffer paused 70ft from the top of the tower. Two policemen, in the presence of a rapidly growing crowd, ascended, brought the woman down and charged her with disorderly conduct. She did not give a reason for her action.
