OLD SIGNAL STATION

The old hut at the steps to the lighthouse on Cape Wanbrow, which served as a signal station for many years, but had been unused for some time past, was successfully removed on Saturday to the Friendly Bay foreshore. Owing to its position on the hill and its construction, the task of removal was considered extremely difficult, but the work was done by the Waitaki County Council employees and members of the Yacht Club without mishap.
