IRREGULAR ATTENDANCE AT SCHOOLS HEADMASTER’S PROPOSAL PA AUCKLAND, Dec. 8. Heavy fines or the withholding of the family allowance were suggested as salutary lessons in flagrant cases of irregular school attendance by the principal of Otahuhu College, Mr G. W. C. Drake, in his annual report. He said that when one considered the cost of education to the community it was regrettable to see so much good work on the part of teachers wasted by irregular attendance of pupils which, only too often, was tacitly or openly approved by parents.
