MUSIC RECITAL

An interesting vocal recital was given to a capacity audience In the Pioneer Women's Clubroom on Monday evening by the pupils of Mrs Avas McFarlane. The programme opened with items by the studio choir, and these were followed by individual solo numbers. The " Melloteens ” vocal quartet provided variety, and assisting performers were Miss Bertha Rawlinson (vocalist). Miss Joy McFarlane (elocutionist), and Mr Lloyd Jensen (pianist). The programme, which was well received, was brought to a close with Christmas carols sung by the children, and with appropriate numbers bv the choir. The accompanists for the evening were Miss Margaret Gardiner and Mrs Avas McFarlane.
