SPEEDY NOT DISGRACED

Lightweight Prospect At

Riccarton

Speedy was not disgraced by running seventh in the New Zealand Cup last Saturday after being one of the leaders throughout, and she looks one of the brightest prospects among the lightweights in the Metropolitan Handicap at Riccarton to-morrow. Like many -others in the race, she will be better suited by the shorter journey, and judged by her convincing win over one mile and three furlongs on the second day of the Dunedin spring meeting, she should give a good account of herself. She will be ,at home on the fast track. This may be her last season on the race track, and she may be retired to the matrons’ paddock. It was only because of her useful form towards the end of last season that she was raced again this term.
