NO DEVIATION

PARTY’S CAMPAIGN

MR HOLLAND AT HAWERA PA NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 3. The Prime Minister had introduced tactics of endeavouring to upset the campaign of the National Party by asking questions, said the Leader of the party, Mr Holland, in an address at Hawera to-night. He had pledged himself, however, Mr Holland added, not to deviate in any degree from the planned campaign which had so far been so successful. Mr Holland was greeted with acclaim by an audience of 1100 which filled all available seats in the Opera House and additional seating on the stage and spilled into the s t r eet. “Little did I expect that after the meeting of the Prime Minister here last night such a large audience would be present to-night,” said Mr Holland The objects of Socialism and Communism were the same, he said. To show the convergence of the present Government’s policy with that of totalitarianism, Mr Holland quoted the Supply Regulations Bill introduced into the House of Representatives in 1947, which made obvious the introduction of Soviet methods. The object of a Socialist Government did not stop short of totalitarianism, he declared.
