CRISIS IN BELGIUM’S SHIP REPAIRING INDUSTRY
Rec. 8.20 p.m. ANTWERP, Oct. 15. Belgium's ship-repairing industry is facing a serious crisis, with more than 2000 of its 6450 workers unemployed in Antwerp alone.. The situation has got worse owing to the renewed activity of German yards, where Belgian trade union leaders say the workers do overtime and even Sunday work at normal rates of pay.
