&OUNAWEA KESWICK TION. CONVENHeld near Owaka from DECEMBER 24 to 29. Make this Xmas “The Holiday with a Blessing ” by coming to this delightful holiday spot. Good camp facilities. Speakers: Rev. E. R. Harris, Rev. J. Graham Miller, LL 8., and C. B. Boggis. Particulars from Hon. Secretary, A. J. HOWORTH, 401 Highgate. *‘T?OR THEY THAT DWELL AT JP JERUSALEM AND THEIR RULERS, BECAUSE THEY KNEW HIM NOT NOR YET THE VOICES OF THE PROPHETS WHICH ARE READ EVERY SABBATHDAY, THEY HAVE FULFILLED THEM IN CONDEMNING HIM." (Paul—Acts 13:27). The writings of the God-inspired Prophets not only clearly reveal that Jesus the Messiah would first come as “ a man of sorrows,” ” despised and rejected of men,” but they reveal many otner ways whereby Jesus could be identified as Messiah. (Acts 18:28,)' It was vecause the Jews “ KNEW NOT THE VOICES OF THE PROPHETS ” that they rejected Christ. The same God-inspired Scriptures reveal that Christ is coming “ the second time ” “ with power and great glory ” to set up the KINGDOM OF GOD on earth and reign as Universal King. But the Gentiles to-day are ag blind in relation to Christ’s first coming and for the same reason “BECAUSE THEY KNOW NOT THE VOICES OF THE PROPHETS.” We have, therefore, this curious anomaly that the Jews rejected those Scriptures which foretold the SUFFERINGS of their Messiah Whilst the Gentiles refuse to. believe those which describe Him AS A RULER, notwithstanding the latter testimonies are far more numerous. Do not be misled by the religious leaders of today who, as in Christ’s day, are “ blind "eaders of the blind.” but search the Scriptures for yourself. “ WHO MAY ABIDE THE DAY OF HIS rOMING? i AND WHO SHALL STAND <yHEN HE APPEARETH? FOR HE IS •HKE A REFINER’S FIRE AND LIKE ,"FULLER’S SOAP.” (Malachi 3:2.) It is abundantly clear from " the signs of the times ” that the day of Christ’s coming is now near. The Scriptures leach that when Christ comes He “ shall be revealed from Heaven with His mighty Angels in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God and that obev not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thess. 1:7-9). How pertinent, therefore are the questions “ who , may abide the day of His. coming? and who shall stand when He appearth? ” It is per--sectlv clear from the Scriptures that those onlv will “stand” when Christ comes who believe the Gospel Christ taughfi i.e. ••the Gospel of the Kingdom of God IMatt 4:23, Matt. 9:35, Mark 1:14, Luke Luke 4:43, Mark 16:15-16, Roms. 1;16, iCor 15:1-2). For Jesus Christ promised «paven to no one, but clearly stated that -The m°ek shall inherit the earth.” (Matt. 5:5.) , FREE BIBLE TRUTH LITERATURE. Address: P.O. Box 857, Dunedin.
