RHUBARB PLENTIFUL

CUCUMBERS REALISE HIGH PRICES LETTUCE IN DEMAND A large supply of rhubarb has arrived on the city fruit markets and prices are fairly low. There are few cucumbers on the market and high prices are being realised. Cauliflower and cabbage are in oversupply, but lettuce is meeting a good demand. Parsnips are plentiful. Nelson tomatoes are arriving more freely and prices have dropped slightly. Granny Smith, Sturmer and Dougherty varieties still comprise the bulk of the apples coming hand. Oranges are available from city retailers.
