, OPOSSUM SKIN SALE VALUES SHOW INCREASE The Dunedin Stock Agents and Woolbrokers’ Association (Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Donald Reid and Co., Ltd., Stronach Morris and Co., Ltd., N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., Otago Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Ltd., and National Mortgage and Agency Company, Ltd.) reports that the first opossum skin sale of the season was held yesterday, when 58,599 skins were offered, compared with 105,702 skins at the corresponding sale last year. The average quality was not quite the equal of last season, the milder weather being partly responsible as well as the reduced numbers of experienced trappers operating. The demand was good, reflecting the smaller offering, and the recent currency devaluation played its part in the increase in values, compared with the average of last season. Super, first and second grades improved by Is to 2s, and lower grades from par to 6d. The range of prices was:—Super browns, 9s 6d to 9s 9d; first browns, 9s 7d to 10s Id; second browns, 5s 8d to 6s 2d; third browns, 6d to 2s; super dark browns, 10s 3d to 10s 9d; first dark browns, 9s lid to 10s 7d; second dark browns, 5s 7d to 6s 3d; third dark browns, 6d to Is 7d.

Super blues, 13s 4d to 13s lOd; first blues, 12s Id to 12s 7d; second blues, 7s 9d to 8s 2d; third blues, 2s to 2s 6d. Three-quarter-grown greys.
