ANNUAL COMPETITIONS

PRESBYTERIAN BIBLE CLASSES The St. Andrew’s team, which presented the dramatisation “ To Bethlehem, was awarded first place in the third section of the contest for the Rai McNichol Trophy at the opening of the annual choral and dramatic competitions of the Presbyterian Bible classes in the Otago district last night. Commenting on the dramatisation, the judge, Mr J. W. Hayward, said that it had been presented with a great deal of imagination and had provided a pleasing stags picture as well as being notable for its dramatic effect. The fudges are:—Vocal, Messrs G. E. Wilkinson and J. Patterson; dramatisation. Mr J. W. Hayward; impromptu speech, Mr K. Stewart; Scripture reading, Mrs T. D. Adams; instrumental, Mr F. Callaway

Last night’s results were:— Vocal Trios. —Green Island 1, Gladstone 2, Musselburgh and Kaikorai (equal) 3. Two-part Choirs. Ravensbourne .1, Gladstone 2, Tainui 3.
