“FRUITFUL SESSION”
UNITED NATIONS ASSEMBLY CONSTRUCTIVE ATMOSPHERE NZPA—Copyright Rec. 9.36 p.m. NEW YORK, May 16. Under the heading “A Fruitful Session,” the New York Times says in an editorial that the United Nations session now ending nas been “ largely constructive in character and reflected the purposes for which the Assembly was created.” The Times comments: “Except for the usual propagandistic denunciations of the Atlantic Pact, ‘imperialism, warmongering,' and the Marshall Plan, the atniosphere of the meeting was thoughtful, constructive, even cheerful." The Times concedes that there were widely-differing points of view, but comments: “These differences are not necessarily deplorable. As long as tljey are honestly held and faithfully expressed they may lead to a better explanation of the matter at hand, and ultimately to a more satisfactory contusion. As long as fact and fancy can be brought out into the open we have little of which to be afraid.”
