WOMEN’S INSTITUTES

The North Otago Federation of Women’s Institutes held a school of procedure recently, which was opened by Mrs Webb. Mrs Webster, voluntary organiser, then conducted the meeting, at which officebearers and members of all institutes, with the exception of two, were present.

During the day the duties of institute officials and how to run a meeting were discussed, and questions were welcomed from the audience. Mrs Webb thanked Mrs Webster, who is retiring from duty as voluntary organiser, for her valuable service to the federation, and made a presentation to her on behalf of the members. Mrs Cuthbertson and Mrs Doig also spoke in appreciation of the services of Mrs Webster. Mrs Mackie was appointed voluntary organiser of the North Otago district.
