TAIERI POULTRY SOCIETY
CHAMPIONSHIPS ALLOTTED A meeting of the Taierl P6ultry, Pigeon and Cage Bird Society was held in Mosgiel on Saturday night to make the final arrangements for the annual show to be held on June 18. The secretary,' Mr G. Hendry, stated that entries would close on June 4.x The president, Mr J. Friend, intimated that the following championships had been allotted for competition at the annual show:—
New Zealand Championships.—Ancona, standard class; Minorca, standard class: Plymouth Rock, utility class; Brown Leghorn, utility class; any other variety Bantam: Cinnamon or Green Yorkshire, unflighted. South Island Championships.—Langshan, standard class; Australorp, utility class; Old English Game Bantam. Duckwing male> Fantail Pigeon other than white; Pink-eyed Budgerigar, open class. The judges appointed for the show are;—All poultry and Bantajns, Mr C. Fallowfield: homer pigeons, Mr J. Still; fancy pigeons, Mr C. Henry; Yorkshire canaries, Mr G. F. Bell; Norwich canaries, Mr V. McDonald; Budgerigars, Mr A. Robertson: produce, Mr J. M. McCarthy; cats, Mr J. Friend; fancywork, Mrs Fairmaid.
