A. AND P. ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS Mr J. A. C. McKenzie presided over an attendance of approximately 20 members at the annual meeting of the North Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association yesterday afternoon. Mr McKenzie extended congratulations to the Oamaru Pony Club on being reformed. He also congratulated the Oamaru Collie Club on its formation, and on the fact that it had held a very successful opening meeting. The treasurer, Mr R. B. Meek, jn reporting on the balance sheet, stated that members' .subscriptions, donations and trophies, rents, yard fees and catalogues had shown an increase, while gate takings, yard dues and space allocations had decreased on the previous year’s figures. On tile expenditure side, prize moneys and rates had increased and wages had decreased. Tributes to the work of the secretary, Mr C. C. Gillies, were paid by several members. "As long as we have Mr Gillies as a secretary, the chairman’s work will be very easy," Mr McKenzie said. Officers elected were:—President, Mr •T. A. C. McKenzie: vice-president, Mr D. Malcolm; treasurer, Mr R. B. Meek: immediate past president, Mr A. McDonald: c-ommitt.sc—Messrs H. .1. Andrew, J. Bruce, R. F. Buzan. A. Cuthbertson, ,T. S. Dick, J. Kingan, W. R. Macaulav, J. R. McCulloch. J. H. Pollock and T. G. Reed (retiring members re-elect,ed). It was decided to approach Messrs K. D. Meyer,. W. T. Hamilton and G. Simpson to ascertain if they would reconsider their resignations. Auditors. Messrs Smith and Pearce; secretary, Otago Farm Accountancy Society. In accordance with his notice, Mr A. W Woodward moved by letter that rule 20, which states " that the secretary shall be appointed annually at the meeting of the General Committee immediately following the annual meeting,” be deleted. ' Mr Woodward stated that this rule was superfluous. Several members expressed the opinion that it was not necessary to alter this rule, and. on being put to the vote, the motion was defeated. Monthly Meeting Th'e Oamaru Kennel Club wrote asking for permission to alter the cattle stalls on the south-west side of the Show Grounds so that accommodation could be improved for its annual show.—Referred to the Grounds Committee to meet the club.
