NO INQUIRIES
GRAINS FOR FEEDING REQUIREMENTS NORTH WELL STOCKED Owing to the heavy shipments of Australian wheat io the North Island, no inquiries are being received for oats, barley, or other grains for feeding requirements. This position is likely to continue for some time, as stocks in the north are sufficient to meet all needs for the next few months. A few lines of oats and wheat are still coming to hand, but the pliably is not as high as that of early deliveries. Chaff continues firm, and there is a ready outlet for all good-quality lines. Digging of the main-crop potatoes is now general, though the weather has been responsible for some delays. The yields are expected to be good from the Taieri area, and in those areas in the Stirling-Inch Clutha districts which were not affected by flood the yields should also be satisfactory. A very quiet week has been experienced in' seeds, and there has been little inquiry for any lines, all of which, however, are firmly held. Almost all the districts report smaller quantities of seeds harvested this year. There are exceptions, however, the yields of Chewings fescue and crested dogstail being well up to the average. There is no variation to record in I lie prices of perennial ryegrass, white clover cowgrass or cocksfoot. Inquiries are still being received for browntop.
