FINAL WOOL SALE
AUCTION ON MONDAY SEASONAL CLEARANCE The fifth and final auction of the -1948-49 wool season in Dunedin will be held in the Burns Hall. Burlington street, on Monday, and will begin at 2 p.m., instead of 8 a.m., at the request of the wool buyers. Generally, the sale will be regarded as a clean-up auction of the season, and very few of the better-class clips remain for disposal. A total of 13,433 bales of new greasy wool will be offered, together with 3112 bales of old wool on behalf of the New Zealand Disposal Commission, making a grand total of 16,545 bales. - Most of the clips of finer wools to be offered, being late shorn, show signs of seed. There are some particularly attractive crossbred clips, a number of clips of lambs’ wool, and some good-type lamb crutchings. The order of sale, and the individual offerings, are;— Bales.
