MR FRASER’S STATEMENT “ I certainly want publicly to endorse the statement made by the Minister of Finance, Mr Nash, when he spoke about the need for a greater Contribution from New Zealand tor the defence of the
British Commonwealth,” stated the
Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, in the \ course of a brief interview last night. Discussing the proposals that had been put torward tor a t’aclltc pact, Mr Fraser said that up to the present “ there has been no discussion on a Governmental level, but I expect the matter will come up in due course.” Mr Fraser was emphatic that there should be no slackening in the sending of food parcels to Britain. “It is imperative that as many parcels as possible should be sent,” he said.
