Croquet Association's Twenty-first Birthday

At the annual end-of-the-season party the Otago Croquet Association also celebrated its twenty-first birthday. Among the guests of honour were Mesdames Kensington (first president), who gave a short outline of the early days of the association, JoMh McDonald, D. McPherson. SWann, Mitchell and Briggs. Mrs McDonald, who cut the cake, handed the autographed key to Mrs C. Chapman, the present president. • The captains of Tainui (A’ Grade) and Watea (B and C Grades) accepted the shields on behalf of their clubs, and Mrs Rankin (champion of champions) was presented with a miniature shield.
